1510 New SAT for Ivies/Similarly Ranked Schools?

Hi everyone!

I’m currently entering my senior year and would like some opinions on how my score of 1510 w/ an 8/7/7 essay score (single-sitting) on the New SAT matches up for Ivy League schools (specifically Princeton, Yale, and UPenn) and similar top-ranked colleges. Where would it fall in the percentiles for these schools?

As I have only taken the SAT once, I am leaning towards re-taking it in October as it would only be my 2nd time taking it and odds are my score will improve after studying this summer, but would do you all think? Should I just shift focus to essays?

Thanks for your help!

Did you already take your SAT IIs? If you’re fine with those, just go ahead & take them in the fall. It’s just one Saturday morning.

@platinumlush what did you use to study?

@HPhelpbot123 Yes, I do have 2 subject test scores that I am very happy with and plan on submitting.

@MurphyBrown Thanks, I’ll make sure to do my best!

@wangoi I primarily relied on my knowledge from Algebra classes in school, but I used Khan Academy a few times and I would say it’s a good (albeit boring) way to refine your understanding of the material.

To provide more information on why I’m asking, according to CollegeBoard’s Concordance Tables, a 1510 on the New SAT would equate to a 2190 Old SAT which is on the lower side percentile-wise for schools such as Princeton and Yale. However, I have heard that there’s a lot of controversy regarding the reliability of said tables, so I’m not sure how it stacks up.

That’s why (since your SAT IIs are good) you should retake in the fall. Either that or try the ACT.
