155 Index PSAT

thanks patwu. =]

I went from about a 160 index for PSAT to a 2210 on my SATI.

wow.. robotfood. thanks. that's definitely very nice to know what people are capable of. i'll try my best to follow your footsteps ^^

The index is just an estimate of your skills at a point in time. It's definately possible to imrpove your scores, just practice with the right materials.

i just need to know quickly.
i want to apply to BU..but the thing is that i need to take two SAT II's.
do they offer SAT II lit/us history in june? and also, can i just take one SAT II in june and the other one in october/november?
i would apply regular decision obviously, not early..it gives me enough time to apply and get my scores back at the same time right?

plus, how hard is the SAT II Lit and the SAT II US History? what prep books should i buy and is a month and half enough time to prep for history and a whole summer to prep for SAT II lit?

hey thanks to you all whom respond!

of course not...sophomore year, i got a 163 and i thought i was screwed. junior year (without studying or anything), i got a 213. it definitely does not indicate anything (besides the fact that u may need some practice). but you are not screwed over.

Also, dont' stress over scores so much.

The score I sent to most of my colleges was 2090--and I got into every school except waitlisted at Stanford and Princeton--and I don't think it was cause of my scores.

Thanks guys.
ivyracer: definitely nice to know that 163 can go to a 213. Very nice improvement. I hope i can do that well too, i've been studying a lot and taking courses and stuff. Hopefully sophomore year has taught me enough for the next PSAT and the SAT's =/

robotFOOD: haha i'll try to. thanks. good job on getting into colleges. i really want to get a 2100+ =/ it'll be tough maybe lol. it'd be nice to get 2200 to be safe for colleges i want i hear.

to all: yeah. i got a bit worried.. cuz people here are like "oh man 191. i know.terrible terrible score."
whereas: mine is a 155 >_>...

To bijoux7: I think that 1 month and a half is definitely enough to prep for US History. I haven't taken it myself, but from what I hear, it's not anything insanely hard. SAT II Literature is definitely possible to prep with a whole summer. I'm not saying any of this from personal experience, but I'm guessing that if SAT's are preppable in a few months, an SAT II subject should be too. Just make sure you stay on focus and study, not screwing around. =] best of luck.

bump bump bump

hey thank you protege! i just want to make sure i'll get all my scores for SAT and SAT II when I apply regular decision for BU.

good luck bijoux7 =]. any other PSAT comments?

you can definately improve your score with studying...i know you are more concerned about your SAT but i got a 170 on my psat the first time and a 212 the next year

im definitely more concern with my SAT that SAT II's. actually, im kind of worried..it's april vaycay for me right now, do you have any suggestions how i should schedule each day with the SAT studying without overwhelming myself?

bijoux7: i'd have to say.. get some word smart, grammar smart, or math smart books, or maybe one of those big SAT books and start practicing them about.. one hour - 2 a day. and then spend the rest of time relaxing. Jus tmake sure you keep yourself on schedule. and you should be good with SAT's and relaxing. too

what do you mean by 155 index? is that the same as the score or is the index something else??

155 index = score of 155. sorry didn't make it clear. =/

I got a 164 PSAT index(I'm a Junior)..but I felt that I completely bombed the SAT on Apr. 1
I think for the index, you should just add a zero to the end..to make it look like an SAT score, for example my 164 = 1640..yeah, something like that...but for sophomore year, your index is pretty good protege, b/c mine was definitely a 144.

Thanks BigLA. I hope i do better though haha. I just took a Practice Real SAT (they get an old copy of the SAT and make you do it) I hope i do alright. I got a 1710 the last time on a practice. =/ hope by junior year i get better. =/

dont think u can do it....basically every normal kid in my grade got that a 150ish.......the kids who are gunna get the 2100+ are already pretty obvious :) i got a 204
