I got 1550 on my PSAT. And yes, it's disgraceful especially since I'm an anomaly of typical smart ass Asian. I'm a Junior and my psat score only jumped by 100 points from sophomore psat score. I will be taking my first SAT this January. I know I won't do well on it, judging by how I did poor on my PSAT. However, I will still have 2 more tries (6 months apart).

For this past week, I planned on how to raise my score up to 2350+. You are not dreaming, it's 2350. Some of you may think I'm a fool to think that I could raise that score. Please don't. Wish me luck. Although it will require me to dedicate every single minute out of my life to ramp up 800 points, I won't give up.

Starting this week, I will write a weekly progression(in this thread) on how well I do on practice tests and on the real exam. In addition, I will include techinques I used on SAT and what the outcome was. Wish me luck and I wish you all luck!

Good luck with your endeavor. I am aiming for a similar score (2300+) but I reckon I’m in better standing than you since I scored a 2190 on my PSAT. I can probably give you some pointers- I scored a 1750 the first time I took the PSAT, so I improved quite a bit.

What was your breakdown? And what is your weakest section?

My weakest section is both writing and reading. I’m not a native here, and I came from Korea when I was in 3rd grade. I never cared to read books to study grammar rules until this year. I guess I need to start building myself up brick by brick.

I’m coming from a similar background. I’m a typical super-smart (other people think so) hard-working chinese over-achiever. I got a 161 on my first PSAT. I’m still aiming for that 2300, and I probably won’t make it but I’ll give it my all. Currently working on writing.

same here daniel. I score in the 150s on my PSAT aswell. And im also shooting for roughly that range (2000+). Good luck though. What im doing is cramming in prep books xD

Strange, I’m one of those Asians too and I got an 185 on my PSAT but did very poorly on my SAT (1700ish) so yeah…I think I can raise it cause I took a prac test today and got a 2240 (BB edition 1).
