1590 :-( any hope?

My first time taking the SAT in June and I got a 1590.

UGH!

Any hope of getting in?

There is some hope:

The local Dartmouth Club is fond of me
Ill be visiting the campus in July
My EC's are fantastic (NHS, Thespians, Student Government, and Speech/Debate)
HOBY alum
Boys State alum
I serve (and chaired) a city board, served on 2 different boards
Proposed a teen center that was approved and over $8m has been budgeted for it
I served on several city campaigns {who both won :-)}

Academically:

3.6 Un-weighed ~4.1 weighed (top 10%)
AP AM History in junior year (don’t know results of test)
2-3 AP's next year
Everything else honors

I will be a Political Science major so a lot of my high school career has been focused on such

My DREAM is to go o Dartmouth

With the info provided... Do I have a chance?

It depends. If youre an under represented minority, then yes. If not, i'd probably retake the sat. Theres still time.

Nope... White male in Florida

I do intend on retaking it... However a 500-700 point increace is daramatic (and unlikely). Do you think the school will over look the SAT.

p.s. i still dont know my ACT score

As far as I know they wont overlook your SAT and a 500-700 increase is dramatic but not impossible. Work hard :p

I intend on doing just that.

anything else you can sugest?

Nothing else. Just get hold of a few SAT books and eat em! Make sure you get the CB Blue Book. :)

lol We are on the same boat! I also need to retake my SAT. A mere 1910 .... pathetic...
