<p>^ in that case i’d like to point out that in America, “college” refers to what in many countries is the last 2 years of HS or so, whereas we use “college” and “university” as synonymous. so if you were referring to starting university at 16 and that’s the norm over there, go for it…if you were referring to coming to an American university at 16 then I would consider taking a gap year…18 is the norm here (but it’s not uncommon to start at 17 and turn 18 during the first year)</p>
<p>wouldnt one be kind of distracted. with being legal and in college with no one to ‘hound’ you like at home. you’re essentially free to do whatever you want!</p>
<p>I kinda wish I had done a gap year now. Taking a year to tour around the US would have been awesome.</p>
