16 Units in one CCC semester??? Help plz

So I’m currently going to my first year at a community college in California and want to TAG to UCSB, my main concern is getting all 60 units done by Spring of 2018 (since I want to transfer in 2 years). This fall semester I’m only taking 11 Units because I had to drop one of my classes that was 3 units. In order to get back on track to complete 60 units by the end of Spring 2018 I plan on taking 16 units this next semester.

The classes I plan on taking are:
-Sociology 2 (Modern Social Problems) 3 UNITS Online Class
-English 5 (Advanced Composition & Critical Thinking) 3 UNITS
-Intro to Biology with a Lab component 4 UNITS
-Intro to Psychology 3 UNITS
-Astronomy 3 (Galaxys and Stars) 3 UNITS

Do you guys think this will be too much? I’d also like to mention that I’m taking the teacher I’ll be taking for Soc2 right now in Soc1 and that class is an easy A. (RateMyProf also says its an easy class). Also, the class I dropped this semester was Intro to Psych so I could have a head start in the beginning since I sort of took it before.

Ditch the online class. Chances are you won’t spend enough time on it because you will be busy with everything else. Concentrate on keeping your grades up and on improving your study habits so that you can take 15/16 credits each term come fall. Take two classes in the summer session to get yourself back on track to finish the 60 units by the end of Spring 2018.

15 or 16 units should be a normal course load for a full time student.

Be careful of taking too many high work courses together, though. Such courses include those with labs, art studio, music performance, or big projects.

16 units is pretty standard. Did you drop that one class this semester because it was a high course load?

If you’re worried about not having enough units to transfer then there’s always summer and winter sessions. I currently attend a community college on the semester system without winter sessions, but will be taking winter classes online at a different farther away community college, something you can consider doing as well.

Do online courses and winter courses transfer ? I don’t think they accept winter as well as online courses ?
