<p>I got a 1600/1600, but a 700 Writing, so:
Math: 800
CR: 800
Writing: 700 (730 from previous test)</p>
<p>I know I can strongly improve my writing score, but the only thing that's holding me back is, if I mess up CR next time (let's say I get a 750), will that detract from my initial 800. Will they see that as a fluke?</p>

<p>Nah, I wouldn’t sweat it. My score was very similar. You still got a 2300, which is a fantastic score.</p>
<p>Im in a similar situation (780/800 CR/M, 710 Writing) and I’m retaking to bump up that writing score (even though there’s a chance I might do worse on CR).</p>
<p>i’d say don’t bother. focus on the rest of your package because honestly the SAT score isnt THAT important.</p>
<p>I got a 2330 overall and still got waitlisted at my ivys because my gpa wasn’t high enough (i think) =p i had a 3.86 UW, 4.2W. </p>

<p>^ No it will not. You have superscoring on your side. Also, if you made an 800 on the brutal June CR, I wouldn’t anticipate it going down :)</p>
<p>You have a 2330 superscored, which is fine. Take it again and they might think you’re score obsessed. A 30 point drop in writing is within the projected band and nothing to worry about :)</p>
<p>I’m reminded of The West Wing, where President Bartlet told his doctor how he retook the SAT and got 1590 again. “Wait a second, you got a 1590…and took it again?”</p>
<p>Relax. You got a perfect score on the “old SAT”. Maybe you don’t appreciate how rare and special that is. Your “awful” writing score will be tempered by your application essays.</p>
<p>I would only retake it if you want to be a presidential scholar nominee.</p>
<p>But doesn’t the presidential scholarship only consider Math and CR Scores?</p>
