17 minutes late... oops

So the deadline was the first... I submitted at 12:17 am today. It took it when I hit submit, though, and I got the confirmation email. Will I be penalized/rejected?

Might depend on the school, though I doubt you’ll be in much trouble. U of Chicago has said it doesn’t penalize or reject people who submit on the date but I don’t know what the policy is at other schools.

I think the deadline means 1159 pm on 3-01-10? I could be wrong, but I think you will be fine.

Well, that’s a relief. thanks!

Np, but like I said I could be wrong, but trust me schools are really flexible with deadlines, i mean 17 minutes late is ok, you won’t be rejected.

If anything it would not have let the app go through because adcoms dont have time to scrutinize ur app to the extent of time submitted, so since it went thru ur fine.

GL!

deadline is March 1st at 11:59, buddy.

It will depend on the school, the mood of the adcom, and (if you are lucky) whether or not they like you.

Top schools receive so many applications that they actively look to eliminate candidates. However, the adcom is made of up of people, and there is a chance that they give your late application a glance or two. Even if they do look at your application, if they have to decide between you and another candidate whom submitted his (or her) application on time, they are going to go with the other guy (or girl)

At this point, I wouldn’t worry about it. There is nothing you can do, just make sure the next few applications arrive on time!
