1780 SAT( 29 ACT 2.9 GPA Chances?

<p>Hi all, first post. I just recieved my ACT and SAT scores and I'd like to know if I have some good chances for getting into a strong state university, or other schools that are recommended. What schools would one recommend with these scores?</p>

<p>2.9 GPA (low i know, didn't do well 9 and 10th grade, but have a steady grade curve up for 11th Grade)
Took AP english, and am taking AP english and AP gov next year, as well as Physics. I'm also in the schools iT program and will have the advanced iT diploma by graduation.</p>

<p>1780 SAT, however the writing section really brought me down.
Critical Reading 690
Math 620
Writing 470
-Multiple Choice 49 (score range: 20-80)<br>

<p>Do I have a good chance to get into some good schools? I live in Virginia.
I volunteer at a hospital, and am a member of some clubs at school (Debate, etc).</p>

<p>hmmm try retaking ur SATs and getting a better writing score
i think u miteee be able to get into UVA
ur gpa is a little low but if ur school is really good and competition its explainable</p>

<p>UVA’s average is a 4.0 GPA, so I don’t think so… but thanks</p>

<p>um DEF improve writing will help
u can try for UMBC or UMCP and you have a good chance of making it but u might not get any scholarships
If you dont do any improvements i would recommend the highest rankings that you choose to be from around 25-35 but tat’s just my opinion
