18 Credit hours this summer too much?

Hey all,

I just had a question about my course load for the summer. I’m set to take 18 credit hours, 6 classes, with 3 of those retakes (got 1 C and 2 B-) and 3 other courses so I can get qualified to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation. The summer courses are 6 weeks long, all online. My course schedule would be as follows

Math 123 (Stats)
Psych 101
COMM 420
WRIT 307 (Technical Writing)
MUSC 110
ECON 211 (Micro)

Is this doable or am I pushing it?

Ps. For what its worth, Comm 420 and Writ 307 are known for being total jokes at my school.

Is it all together? Or 3 for six weeks, than 3 more for the next six weeks? If it’s the 3 now and 3 later, and you are not working full time, yes I think it’s doable. I personally had I rough time with online courses, though, due to having a combination of ADD and procrastinating. Just make sure you are keeping up with the assignments everyday, you should be fine.

It seems like a lot to me but I’m not familiar with online courses and how much work they would be

I don’t think it’s too much, since those are mostly easy gen-ed/freshman and sophomore level classes. I took 19 hours worth of those last summer and made a 4.0, all A+'s: (BIOL 1 for science majors + lab, English Comp II, Accounting I, Accounting II, Art Appreciation for Non-Science Majors and Nutrition Science). All except the Biology class and lab were online. Really not too hard if you’re disciplined.

However, if we were talking about upper-level business classes then I would definitely say otherwise. But certainly, I would certainly encourage you to take that easy course load and get ahead!
