180 Credits Needed For Graduation

Hai guise.

What does this mean exactly?

There are 12 quarters, right (3 quarters per year with the summer quarter being optional)?

So how many courses on average would one take to hit the 180 mark after 4 years?

Or shall I say, how many credits is the average quarter course worth?

Thanks,
Mohina

Probably 4 or 5 courses per quarter

^^^ I don’t think so, that sounds like a lot, since they have more quarters they take less each term.

^I know its at least 4 but I think u can take 5 if you want to and it fits into a schedule

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/694332-how-many-classes-do-stanford-students-take-per-quarter.html

Consensus on this thread is 3 or 4, apparently 5 is a lot for a quarter.

Typically classes are 3-5 units, usually 4-5. Say the average class is 4.2 units.

Therefore, 180 / 12 = 15 and 15 / 4.2 = 3.57 classes a quarter.

Thanks a lot guise.

So sounds like you could get by with 3 classes a quarter assuming you have some AP credits.

Yes, but watch out on the AP credits. Stanford does not accept them all so be sure that what you have taken will be used at Stanford.

Yeah, I noticed that, MWP. Stanford’s kinda picky when it comes to AP credits.
