despite that i need to work on CR heavily, the essay score and stupid math mistakes are preventing me from scoring in the 700s+ how do i make sure il be able to get in the double digits on the essay? and anyone have the same situation as me for math? as in you know how to get the answer but you just do something else by mistake and get the wrong answer? if so how,if you did, did you overcome that?

Here are a couple of suggestions for avoiding careless errors:

(1) make sure you know all the standard SAT Math Strategies (if you want a few free chapters from my SAT Math strategy book, send me a pm).
(2) practice solving questions in multiple ways - by understanding different methods for solving the same problems, you’re more likely to be suspicious when a careless error is being made.
(3) while practicing math problems try to understand more deeply why the method you are using works.
(4) during the test leave 5 minutes at the end to go back and catch careless mistakes - if you are applying the right strategies, there should be plenty of time for you to do this. If you are finding that you don’t have enough time, then you are not solving problems very efficiently and you need to learn more strategies.
(5) Make sure you are “checking” over your answers correctly - don’t simply look over your solution. Resolve the problem without looking at your original answer, then compare them at the end. Ideally you should try a different method the second time.

Best of luck!

so is there always another way of doing a problem? cause for some problems i only know how to approach them one way. and i looked at my score report for math and the only problems i missed where the difficult level ones. do you by chance have any sources of practice problems i could utilize to help prepare for level 4 and 5 math problems?
