1900 SAT score. So....?

I will definately retake, but coupled with a 3.827 GPA and OOS, how does a 1900 look for me academics-wise? Does it say that I am not a good test-taker? Or that my GPA was inflated?

a 1900 is fantastic (compared to mine and many others first SAT scores) and if you are planning on retaking it, you will definatly be able to get into a good school…your gpa is great…I would say just improve your lowest scored section of your SAT and you’ll be fine

1900 is not bad, it’s within UW’s average SAT scores, but honestly it wouldn’t stand out that much to the admission people.

good luck with your UW app though!

1900 is a decent score. Remember that UW isn’t an ultra-competitive school. With your GPA, which is pretty good, don’t worry about the SAT score, which is slightly above average at UW.

Thanks, and I heard UW doesn’t even put that much emphasis on the SAT.

They don’t. I had a 1580 and still got in 2 years ago where it was the most competitive year in UW’s history.

how were your ec’s and essay?

Honestly, if you hit the 1850 bracket, you’re set for the SAT. A 3.8 is great for GPAs. Think of it as a checklist with numbers.

Your course rigor, ecs, and essay should take a heavy load though.

Don’t fixate on your SAT score if the other parts of your application are strong. (i.e. extracurriculars, volunteer work, leadership, etc.) For people that can’t write good essays and haven’t participated in much throughout high school, they might feel a need to compensate for that with a stellar score. Yours is good. So I think you’re fine! Taking it at least twice is always a good idea.

1900 is a really good score. You should be proud of it!

1900 is a perfectly fine score. I agree with the above poster that the 1850 mark is set, along with a good gpa (3.6/3.7+). I have friends who got in with lots of different stats, but most of them had around a 1800-1900 score with a 3.6+ gpa.

I have a 3.4 and a 1920…so it should be interesting.
