1940 on SAT:/ any of these schools a possibility?

SAT:
english 650
math 680
verbal 610
(1940 with writing)
(1290 without writing)

GPA:
unweighted 3.98
weighted 4.46

5 AP classes and all honors in high school

Lehigh, Maryland, Penn State, Villanova, Boston College- should i even bother or should i just stick with Rutgers and Delaware

I think you have a great shot at getting into these schools especially with ur gpa. I got into Maryland and Penn state with much lower stats. You also have a very good chance at getting into villanova. Your gpa will probably help you will lehigh and BC both being high matches or slight reaches. I assume your a junior so you still have time to take the sat again or try the act. Goodluck with apps.

Are you crazy? All those schools are a possibility. My best friend got into BC with a 1700 SAT and 3.9 gpa and no super outstanding ECs. Go for it!

i feel like my SAT scores are going to hold me back though. though they make most of the average scores for the schools, they are in the 25th percentile. it’s kind of disheartening to work hard throughout my entire high school career and have one test hold me back. and i am a junior and plan on taking the SAT at least one more time as well as the ACT

by definition this cannot be a true statement, unless you are trying to say something else, like:

“even though my SAT scores are in the middle 50% of these schools, they are closer to the 25th percentile”

yes, that’s what I meant i just realized i incorrectly worded that. and yes that’s my question as well?

It makes sense to apply to schools with a range of selectivity levels. As long as you have safety schools covered, it makes sense to apply to any/all of the schools on your list.

Taking the SAT again and the ACT also makes good sense, as higher scores would increase your odds at those schools.

Consider re-taking the SAT maybe, but those scores definitely provide a chance at each of those schools.

You got it! If you don’t feel that your scores/grades are good enough (which they definitely are!) make sure to put that on your application; there’s usually a place to write supplementary info near the end of the app. Good luck and keep hope alive!
