I'm an out of state student, have taken a very rigorous academic schedule all 4 years including 8 APs.... 2 sport athlete, Class President for 3 years, member of multiple clubs including engineering club

SAT: 1980, Math 730, CR 630, W 620
GPA: 3.4 UW / 4.0 W (a little low i know )

think i'll get in? i plan on filling my application out in a few weeks

Not gonna give you an evaluation but I also applied with a 1980 SAT (770CR, 610M, 600W, back when the writing wasn’t considered) with a 3.7 UF GPA from a private high school and got in a year ago. GPA isn’t everything. Good luck

Work on the essay a lot, I’ve heard a few UF students say that their essay was make or break. Do you have a certain interest or passion that you maybe did in high school?

Jubilant, I was referring to my UF recalculated GPA. The OP was referring to his GPA on his school UW and W GPA’s. Regardless, I was giving an example in which someone with a below average UF GPA was admitted with the same composite SAT.

I was rejected this last cycle as an instate applicant.
3.7 W GPA & 2000 SAT. 8 Ap’s
720 M, 640V, 640W
Not top 10%
Good EC’s, multiple sports Blah,blah,blah

But do send your application and fee in anyway.
The state of Florida needs all the money it can get.

honestly i was an out of state student and i got rejected. Ya i had lower scores than you but now in state students are getting more recognization and the school is hardening there admission acceptance because of the funding, economy, and because the school overbook on students this year. Probably because Tim Tebow won the national championship and hes coming back for another year.

As an OOS his chances are slim to none.
Go thru all the OOS “Chance me threads” from last year and you will probaly find not one person with those OOS stats who got in.

If he were in-state as gpowsang can attest he may have a chance. But even then it’s like winning the lottery.
