<p>How significant is being a 1st generation college student + low income when adcoms are reviewing your application? Specifically, how much does it help? Does it give you something along the lines of grade forgiveness or what?</p>

<p>I'm quite mediocre GPA-wise (in comparison to everybody else on CC ..or maybe the rest of the US), but my SAT + AP scores + extracurrics + essays aren't bad...</p>

<p>USC does practice affirmitive action, and being low-income/first-generation will help, but not quite to the level of being a URM.</p>
