1st Post...need advice

Hey all, i'm a rising senior and will be applying to colleges next year, and I was wondering if you could give me some advice for good safety, match and reach schools based on the following:
SAT:2100
M: 750
V: 730
W: 620 (8 on essay)
It was my first time taking it...I know i could probably do better but I'm not too worried because according to everyone here the adcoms arent giving as much weight to writing, and I would be perfectly happy with a 1480/1600/
ACT:33 33/34/35/29
writing 11/12=33

4.0...taking the most "rigorous" classes my school has to offer.

I am hoping to do something in medicine...and assuming I have pretty good (not great) EC's, which I can list out if someone absolutely needs them, where do you think i should go. I would prefer the midwest or east coast, and a school with smaller class sizes and good research opportunities, as I'm planning to go to med school. I would prefer a smaller school (5,000) but an honors program at a state school wouldnt be bad either. Thanks a lot.

Newarker, Your grades and scores are good enough for most LACs and Universities. They won't automatically get you in but they won't keep you out either. What will push you over the top at the LACs are your extracurriculars or hooks, so yes, tell us more about yourself.

Other than geographic location what are you looking for? Urban/suburban/rural, liberal/less so, Greek presence/none, coed/all womens (if applicable), sports focus/less so, arts focus/don't care.

There are many, many fine schools in the East Coast and Midwest that have good track records for med school admissions. You'll need to narrow the field a bit.

ok, well some of the things that I am involved in:
varsity tennis since 8th grade, our team was runner up in section finals
chess club since 9th grade, am now "co-captain"
member of 15 person Science Olympiad team that won 2nd at state
have taken russian for four years, and now tutor younger students there
worked as a tutor at my high school last year (3 days a week after school) to help ESOL students with their homework
this summer I am interning at a research lab and working on treating cancer, I am working about 40 hours a week
I play tenors on the dumline, we have summer practices twice a week
Volunteer at Ronald McDonald house 3 hours a week

As for type of school, I would prefer the Urban or Suburban setting, and Greek scene, sports or arts dont really matter much to me, i dont plan on playing varsity in college.

Also, i was wondering whether to send my SAT or ACT score...which would look better to colleges? Obviously a 33 would look better than a 2100, but considering that I got a 1480 on math and verbal, which is better than a 33, what should I do? Thanks for the input
