1st Quarter Grades... got yours?

I am so happy with myself today! Today was the last day of our quarter and I have ALL A's in ALL AP classes! It isn't official until Monday, but from verbal reports from my teachers that's what it looks like.

AP Calc - A
AP Lit - A (barely, the teacher doesn't like me... I think it's more intimidation :) ... no not really)
AP Euro - A
AP Studio Art - A

(then in my CC classes I had all A's at midterm)

So, have you gotten your grades? If not, what are you expecting them to be?

wow, your school posts them really early. our marking period only ends next week, the at least another before we get them

ya...that's really early. we haven't even gotten to midterms yet! those come out on thursday.

When did your school start? We're only in the 8th week of the 10 week quarter here.

well lets see

ap vrgil B 90%
ap englit A 95%
ap gov B 64% (gotta love the curve in that class)
ap chem B 82% (3 from an A, sigh)
ap calc B 90%

i like to think colleges live up to the "we'd rather see a B in an AP class than an A in an honors class" statement.

My final grades are out already:

AP Macroeconomics - A
AP (don't ask) US History - A
AP English Literature - A
AP Biology - C :(
AP Psychology - A
ROTC - A

We started in August and these grades are official but they are just now being submitted... meaning we won't get on-paper results til next week.

I think our quarter ends nov. 12 :P crazy schedules, guys!!

BUT we got midquarter reports and I have an idea about how I'm doing
ap history A-
hon eng C if I'm lucky!!! We've had 4 assessments (!! in class and out) and I forgot to do one, and a B on an essay because my writing style is not appreciated. Uhhhh maybe I shouldn't try to write like james joyce.
ap bio A- if I'm lucky
hon spanish A-
hon geometry A- (so i got pharr's homeric greek!!!1!111)
latin A

Pretty sure this is what it's gonna look like

AP Calculus AB - A
AP US History - A-
English 11 - A+
Yearbook - A
AP Chemistry - B+
Photo - A

First quarter ended two weeks ago for me. It's the shortest quarter of the year, and I hate it cus it might matter for ED. SUCKS that's it's by far the worst I've ever done in my life... :-(
Linear Algebra: B
AP Literature: B+
Madrigals(Chorus type thing): A
AP Physics: B-
AP Biology: A

Why am I so stupid???? Physics killed me. Murdered me. I'm not getting into college. :'-(

we don't get them for two weeks, but i'm thinking
(we don't have A+)

AP US History 2 - A/A-.. hopefully A
Physics- A (although he grades oddly.. not positive about that)
Pre-Calc- A
Business Law Honors- A
Spanish 4 Honors - B
AP English 3 - B/B+

pretty good for a first marking period.. if I get A-'s I'll try to bring them up to A's next quarter (only final grades matter for gpa, and quarter grades are averaged to get final grades along with midterm and final exam grades), and maybe I can bring Spanish and English up a level.. i'd like to get at least a B+ final grade in both and A's in the rest.

Bah...my school starts late and goes by trimesters, so I won't have any concrete grades until the first week of December. Here's a guess:

American Lit- A-/A
AP Calc AB- A
AP Physics- A
US History- A-
European History- B+/A-
AP Spanish Lit- A-

ap us history A
symphonic orchestra A
ap physics A
english 11 A
ap calc ab A
yearbook A (seems like a blow off class, but really isn't. being an editor is a lot of work)
ap chem A
english 12 A

straight A's! my school doesn't have + or - on grades, seems strange.

Hmmm... for the people that have A+, A-, etc are those +- calculated into GPA somehow? We just have ABCDF, and there is no distinction between an 89.6 and a 104 with a + or -.

CC Math = C
CC Biology = B
APUSH = A-/B+
APCOMP/LANG = A/A-
Spanish = A+
AP PHYSICS B = A

I'M USUALLY NOT LIKE THIS! I USUALLY GET STRAIGHT As! IT'S BECAUSE MY SCHEDULE IS SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT THAN LAST YEAR AND I MIGHT'VE PUT TOO MUCH ON MY PLATE. THE REASON MY MATH GRADE IS SO CRAPPY IS BECAUSE WE'VE HAD ONE EXAM AND I DID POORLY ON IT BECAUSE I HADN'T DONE MY HOMEWORK IN A WEEK! I'M ALMOST CAUGHT UP THOUGH WHICH IS WONDERFUL AND THIS STUFF IS PRETTY EASY. ALSO, ONE OF OUR TEST GRADES IS GOING TO BE TOSSED OUT. THE SAME THING APPLIES TO BIOLOGY (ONLY ONE EXAM) AND THE GRADE ISN'T GOING TO BE TOSSED OUT THOUGH. AS FOR HISTORY, I HAVEN'T BEEN STUDYING!!!!!!! FOR COMP/LANG, WE JUST GOT A NEW TEACHER AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT MY GRADES ARE FOR THAT CLASS.

BUT I'M ALMOST CAUGHT UP AND THINGS ARE LOOKING BRIGHTER! MUCH MUCH BRIGHTER ALTHOUGH IT'S STARTING TO RAIN A LOT NOW. :(

gpa calculuations for us are:

A (highest) = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0
C+ = 2.7
and so on
but AP's add +1 to ur gpa, but really though, it's ur transcript that counts cuz a lot of colleges have their own method of calculating gpa

"seems like a blow off class, but really isn't. being an editor is a lot of work"

I hear THAT!! Last year, being a section editor in yearbook generated more stress than 2 honors and 1 ap class COMBINED! This year I'm section editor of the opening section (ungh)..and first deadline is coming up. Oh kwap, not looking forward to that.

Spanish 2 - A
English 3 Honors - A
World History - A+ (but that's only cuz we haven't had any tests.. haha)
Pre-Calc/Trig - A-
AP Chem - B-
Athletics - A hehe

First quarter sophmore grades-

German II- A
Spanish II- A
Algebra II/Pre-Calculus- A
Chemistry- A
Language Arts 10- A
U.S. History 3- A
World History- A

We don't get them till next week..but we go by semester system so that's okay
