1st Quarter Grades of ED Applicants

Do any of you guys know if JHU contacted your school to ask for a copy of your first quarter grades?

I'm just curious...

i dont know if they contacted, but i told my couselor to sent in a copy of my grades cuz i remembered that they said the like to look at it.
it was weird cuz even tho i got a c+ 1st marking period (in calc...die calc, die -- yea its weird, im an asian with no abilities whatsoever in math, its sad), i got straight a's in 4 other ap's, and so it actually brought up my gpa. lol i just hope that c+d idnt completely kill me, even tho it prob did since this was one of the most "competitive applicant pools in hopkins history..."

(...watching my tiny tiny hope of getting in fly away)

hmmm....I never specifically asked my GC to send them...do they always need to see them?

how do you know it was one of the most "competitive applicant pools in hopkins history"? i feel sick. theres no way i got in.
deep sigh

I would also like to know where you received that information. I know last year's class was quite competitive, but I doubt we'll hear anything from Hopkins until sometime past December 15th.

In regard to 1st quarter grades, I just sent mine in. After I got them from my school, I mailed Hopkins the original.

omg...am I the only one who didn't send in my 1st quarter grade....

Where did you get that quote from nanaijuh???

Please come back and tell us where you got that info from, or else none of us will be able to sleep tonight...

no. i didn't send them in. i thought you only did that if they asked...
then again, i don't really think i would've wanted them to see my first quarter grades.

alright hang on im looking gimme 5 mins lol

We know you're on nanaijuh! We can see your gold log-in status!

Arg... Again I post too slow.

http://apply.jhu.edu/faqs/edfreshmen.html

ok, this was the site that laxfan gave us, if u go down and read, somewhere it says

"This year’s Early Decision applicant pool was one of the most competitive in Hopkins’ history, especially for the BME major."

and btw, i am soooo sry i mentioned that
now u guys are prob gonna be more nervous
ive officially decided that im "cool with it" if i dont get in. lol
well not really but i like to pretend

Yea...I see what you're refering to...

I might be wrong...but wasn't that comment there even before we handed in our ED applications...?

"well not really but i like to pretend"

hahaha...that's amazing...

I really won't be surprised if I get rejected/deferred....i would still be sad, but not surprised....

well thats super.
i'm beginning to come to terms with my soontobe rejected status.
its still rather depressing.

uhhh how do they know the competitiveness of the applicant pool before we hand in our applications?

Exactly...

That's why I am suggesting that the answers to the FAQs are the same ones that were on the site since last year...therefore that statement isn't talking about this year's applicant pool....

However I might be wrong....

In any case, I'm still pretty sure that this year's applicant pool was very strong as well, so there is no point in wasting our time thinking about this...

its all a moot point now anyway. whats done is done and in a few days it'll all be over.

wait.. so most of you guys sent ur 1st quarter grades? does it affect chances at all? i didnt even think about sending 1st quarter grades :|

If they really wanted our first quarter grades they would have made it much more clear. I doubt there is anything to worry about. Also, if they wanted those grades and they were "missing" from our files they would have contacted us like they do for other missing information. Just my guess.
