1st quarter grades...send?

Daughter has applied ED to one school, as well as EA to nmultiple schools.

Her ED school has not asked for 1st quarter/mid-semester grades. Her grades are good. the ED school has an upload function on the portal so she could upload her mid-semester transcript. should she? or only if it is requested? Her guidance counselor said he only sends the grades himself if the school asks for them.

I’d say no unless it specifically asks on their admissions page to do so. Mid semester is not final so not sure they could use them.

She could always email and ask or anonymously call, ask for an admission counselor and ask.

I wouldn’t. Maybe I’m in the minority but, unless there is some extraordinary award to add, I believe applications should be considered complete on the deadline. If the previous semester/quarter grades weren’t (in your opinion) the best representation of your student, then she should have waited and applied RD. It feels unfair and I certainly hope AOs aren’t considering late, unsolicited grades.

If they are good, I’d go ahead and send. Worst case, they are ignored.

My D’s ED school had a link for Optional Reports so we sent 1st quarter grades. She’s taking all AP classes and has A’s across the board so we figured it could’t hurt. Worst case scenario, they don’t consider them.
