I just recieved an email saying that I was past the first round and that I now need to go to Buffalo for an interview. How important is it?

My SAT scores were lower than was recommended (1430), but upon emailing them, the lady in charge said that it still didn't hurt to try. My grades and extracurriculars are stellar (4.0, 6/365, and leader of most things "band" in my district), and I feel as if the interview could be that extra push I need.

Has anyone else heard back from Buffalo yet about this?

I haven’t unfortunately. My SAT is 1520 and ACT is 35, but I think my GPA kills my application, I have a 92 UW and 96 W.

@Latinist congrats on getting the invite! It’s pretty important, Buffalo sent out a notification about it last month and said that the interviews are for “top presidential scholarship candidates.”

I hope I get one! But if not, I still most likely have the provost which is still pretty good money.

I just got an email saying I wasn’t selected to move on. I’m not disappointed though; My GPA was low for the scholarship and I didn’t even answer the last essay question.

cortana- you have great stats. You may get some merit money anyway. They give out merit without applying for such. Good luck to you and the others.

I was also not selected… 1470 sat with a 98.5 average. But I did submit it at 1am the morning before the due date… So… Haha good luck to all that are moving onto the next round?

The interview was scheduled for half an hour and I took the full time, though some students were done a few minutes earlier.

They asked me what I expected to get from UB in four years, a few questions about things they found interesting on my application, and the last question I remember is “If you had a week with no commitments what would you do?” That was the hardest one for me.
I think there were a few more questions, but I don’t remember them.
