1st Semester Senior Year Grades

Hi all,

I’m a current junior interested in applying to UT next year. Looking through these boards, it seems that most people think that UT doesn’t take into consideration senior year grades for class rank.

But on their website they state:
“If an applicant’s rank improves before the deadline, you should submit updated information in the same manner in which you reported their earlier rank. All updates to rank must arrive in our office by the deadline to be considered.”

My school updates rank after each 6 week grading period. So if i were to move into say top 5% from top 8% during 1st semester senior year, would UT take 1st semester senior year grades if i submitted them before December 1st? I know that auto admit doesn’t matter, but would this help out Mccombs or Cockrell?

I think you answered your own question.

On their website they state: “If an applicant’s rank improves before the deadline, you should submit updated information in the same manner in which you reported their earlier rank. All updates to rank must arrive in our office by the deadline to be considered.”

Yes, before the deadline, Dec. 1. First semester grades and ranks, at least for us, don’t come out until January, meaning they are not considered.

D called BHP/McCombs today. They suggested that she could upload mid-year reports to ‘my documents’

Good idea!

The admin rep for our area said there was no need to send first semester grades because all materials were due Dec 1.

I should clarify that our question regarding first semester grades was for regular admission, not BHP, so maybe they will be considered for that.

@pcrg167‌ it didn’t seem to allow further uploads to My Documents if it’s in review.

you can try https://utdirect.utexas.edu/apps/adm/docupld/

pcrg168, transcripts have to be sent by the school anyway, so is there really a point?

UT Austin requires the final school transcript to be sent directly by the high school. Others, you can upload.
