1st Semester Sr. Year Grades - PLEASE HELP

I have a question - right now, I'm taking 4 APs (Chem, BC Calc, Psych, EngLit), and I'm at very high risk of getting a B in Chem this semester, and I'm guaranteed a B in BC Calc.

My problem is this: I've never gotten more than 1 B on any semester before (I had 2 semesters of straight A's), and those B's were always in math. I applied EA and got deferred; I'm worried that now they might see this slight drop in my grades and think that I'm not "keeping up with my previously established academic standards." The really bad part about it is that I applied with biosci as my major, and considering that Chem is a MAJOR part of that, they'll see a weakness and wonder why on earth I even chose to apply biosci.

I asked a couple of friends, and they said that yeah, you have 1 more B than last year, but your courseload is heavier than ever before (I took 2 APs and 3 Honors last year), so that should balance it out.

So the question is this: Is this going to have a significant effect on my decision now?? PLEASE HELP!!

I would just try your best to get that A in chemistry and maybe you won't have to worry about it. And from what you've said, it doesn't look like that B in calculus will make a difference.

could I get some input from others?

its NOT that big of a deal. 2 b's are NOT going to sink your app

You are one of those obsessive compulsive people that can ruin high school. This is supposed to be one of the most fun times of your life. Lighten up-a B is not the end of the world. Let me remind you: this is college you are applying to, COLLEGE. HAVE FUN and stop freaking out.

thanks people

It's not going to a drastic effect on your application. I doubt the admin committee is that anal retentive about grades.
