1st Time Chances

I am new here, and I wanted to see what y'all think about my chances of getting into UNC. I was deferred and am Out of State.

GPA: 4.51 Weighted Don't know UW
ACT: 32 (35 M, 35 S, 28 R, 28 W)
Recs were good
EC: Pretty much baseball which I have won numerous awards in(all conference), NHS, nothing else.
Volunteer: Don't know exact hours, but every summer since Freshman Year.

What do y'all think.

Just a little more info:
4 APs(5, 5, 4, 3)
2 More AP's this year.
AP Scholar with Honor Award
Semester Grades of A, A-, A+, A+, A in AP Calc, AP Comp Sci, Honors Physics, Psych, and English respectively.

Hmm your ACT is in the OOS range but your lack of EC's kind of brings down the entire application. You were already deffered once, so theres probably just as good of a chance that you will be not accepted again. No way to know until you get their decision letter.

Thanks for the respone, I do admit that my ECs are pretty weak. The reason for that is I do not get involved for the sake of belonging to a group, or for college alone. The things I do belong to are ones I truly enjoy doing with passion, and thus I am not interested in joining random groups. However, a strength of mine was my short essay topic where I completely bled Baby Blue to the admissions officers.

You may just be passionate only about baseball, but the admission officers are going to be getting applications from people with multiple passions. And as for your essay, in the UNC information session i went to they said demonstrated interest really doesn't affect their descision. Did you write your main essay about baseball by any chance? It would look alot better if you really demonstrated your passion for that EC than not at all.

I did write my essay on baseball. I have always learned never to lose hope until all hope is lost.

I think you have a good chance! Really. You have a great GPA, ACT, AP's and a dedication to baseball. The odds are against you when applying to Carolina-OOS, but hang in there, there is always hope!
You have a lot to offer.
