Hello this is doremicna!
Im starting my college search and i need sum opinions!
I am looking 4 a college that has a good musical theater program near me. Im in North Carolina. NCSA is not what im really looking at. Ive looked at Elon, and ECU. Any other suggestions?

What are your test scores, GPA, academic interests, geographic preferences, etc…?

Well, in a top program such as CMU, they don’t care if you have trouble spelling ‘cat’ if you can pass the audition. You have to be a castable type plus have considerable talent. Are you competitive in both ways? It is easier to get into Harvard than into a top Musical Theatre program. It’s like one chance in 400.

if you’re in north carolina look at north carolina school for the arts…
Its an AMAZING program…but like other top programs (CCM, CMU, PPU, Shenandoah, Purchase, Emerson) you have to be very good within your discipline…
how much experience/training do you have

Whoops I don’t think I read your post carefully enough, ignore my first response.

and i just realized you didn’t want a program like NCSA…
unfortunately, most top conservatories are very similar

Well… if it helps any, my professional experience includes me being on Broadway @ age 11 in the Lion King. I still have aways to go since it is only about 5 yrs l8ter.

Shenandoah University in Virginia is supposed to have a very good program.
