I'm a freshman at a community college who has complete about 40 units already. These units were compiled through not only cc courses, but also AP scores. Now that I'm above the half way mark, I wish to transfer to UCLA, but my problem is that I don't know if I will be considered because half of my units completed are from AP scores. My counselor's really stupid, and i need a lot of help! Please any advice and let me know if I have any chance at transferring this year! Thanks :)

What did your counselor say? And why is he stupid?

Sent from my HTC HD2 using CC App

he lost my student folder and told me all about his weekend in las vegas instead of helping me with my transfer stuff… i wouldn’t call that competent

lol, mine is also “not too smart”, or should I say, “sucks completely”
anw, back to your question, my only advice is to do extremely well this Fall since this will be the only chance UCLA will see you as a full-time college student. How many pre-reqs and/or Gen-Ed have you completed? You need to know that UCLA is extremely strict on the completion of pre-reqs - one of my friends with a 3.95 GPA was rejected from HSSEAS because he missed 2 pre-reqs. The 60 units stuff doesn’t mean a damn since it’s only a minimum requirement for anyone who wishes to transfer. Therefore, like I said, if you have completed more than half of your pre-reqs and GE, you are ready to go to LA! Focus on this Fall classes and well, that’s it.

Btw, I heard that sometimes one-year transfers need to submit their SATs and stuff, but I don’t know so I can’t give you any advice on this. Search this forum with keyword “official thread one-year transfer” and you will see a thread on this issue. Gl

thank you so much for your help! i will finish all but 1 of my pre recs by the end of this semester and i’ve finished basically all of my GEs but one. I will check up on that SAT thing tho, thanks sparkboy ;)
