I am a Freshman who wants to transfer to Cornell, but I fear my SAT scores aren’t on par. (770 math, 630 english, 730 writing). Should I retake the SAT or take an ACT. Or just not even bother with it and not send Cornell my SAT scores.
Your SAT scores are really good. Yes, your English score is somewhat low, but your other two sections really make up for it. What college do you want to transfer into because that will also affect what your SAT scores in each section should be? Also, don’t forget that your current GPA is important, and Cornell is all about fit, so your ability to relay your passion is important!
@SJJunior I want to apply to the College of Human Ecology, the major is Human Development.

Send your test scores! They are high! Especially for transfer applicants.

SAT score are not important. CALS doesn’t require it. The most important thing is your grades in college
@xtarion , even if I’m only a freshmen?
@JCornell19 - Your highschool grades WILL matter. I assume you are applying for next fall? Which means you will only have one semester under your belt while applying. One semester of college may not be a good indicator of what kind of student you are, so they will definitely take your highschool grades into account.
Also, I really suggest sending in your SAT scores. They are HIGH! Especially for transfer students. They will definitely not be a weak point in your application and, if anything, may give you that extra leg up in the admissions pool.
Best of luck!
@Caintpau First semester and the midyear report of the second semester right?
^Yes, although the midyear report doesn’t hold the same weight a final semester grade does.
@Caintpau but the Human Ecology people said that ehy will look at my first and second semester grades before making a decision since, I have taken chem yet and will do some next semester.
