I got overall about a 2.00 GPA senior year. I have done very poorly in 2 of my classes (Ds and Fs), mediocre in one class (Cs) and well in two classes (As and Bs). Will it get me a warning letter from UGA? They haven't seen any of my senior grades yet. I heard that they only rescind 1 or 2 acceptances a year to make a point. Will I be one of those people?

Where did you get accepted into? I'd be a little worried if I were you. Do you have a reason for doing bad, and was your semester 1 a bad grade trend too? Maybe you could say you were struggling the whole year and it finally reached an apex moment. Give yourself too much courseload to handle?

University of Georgia.

I was working on two subjects that I usually do not perform well in. Both are higher-level courses.

First semester was actually worse but then I improved second and began passing.

So how much risk am I in?

I think you should ask your high school counselor - they are probably in a better position to advise you (and may be more familiar with UGA's policies) . What was your GPA when you applied? and what is it now, with these new grades?

it is about a 0.3 drop

it is about a 0.15-0.3 drop in both unweighted and weighted gpa

Only 0.15 - 0.30 drop? Well, if the university accepted you with that kind of GPA (as in now + 0.15/0.30), I doubt dropping that little would affect your admission all that much. I don't think they would try to recind you, but if it happens, deal with it when it comes. There's no need to unnecessarily worry about it at this point.

a 0.15-0.30 drop sounds significant to me because the maximum u can drop senior yr is 1.00

John... I'm worried too - I might get a D in one of my classes for semester and my contract says that I must not get a D or F in any of my classes (UCSB)...

all I can say now is contact your university and say how you messed up... thats what my cousin did and he got away with a D before going to UCI.

dont sweat about it

A .30 drop is significant. Will the acceptance be rescinded? I really don't know; I doubt it.

Talk to your guidance counselor as soon as possible. If they call her to ask what happened and she says "senioritis," it will hurt you. Get your guidance counselor on your side first and ask her what her experience is with UGA. She may advise you to call. (You may want to do that anyway-- but guidance should be your first start.)

actually it is approximately a 0.1416675 drop even though i recieved a few bad grades

See your GC immediately. Your GC is in the best position to know if you should be worried. Why post on collegeconfidential and get responses from a bunch of folks who really do not know?

I have talked to my GC and he said "i dont *ing know *"

hopefully i dont get the stupid warning letter

what are my chances of getting a warning letter?

hmmm well lets put it this way... u have a 2/4000 chance of not making it :P
seriously I dont think u will have a problem. I doubt they will kick u out cause u got a D and an F. Plus the majority of ur classes are passing.
heres the deal:
Ur prolly gonna just be put on probation.
U wont get kicked out.
