2.1 GPA! NYU transfer?

So i just finished my first semester at my CC with a 3.7 but my cumulative is a 3.4 because i took a dual enrollment class in HS and got a 3.2 in that class even though the class wasnt at my cc it was at my HS and it wasnt a real course. But yeah i have a 3.4 as of right now and i am enrolled in 4 classes over the summer in which 2 of those 4 actually count i plan on getting A's in both courses to bring me to a 3.5 cumulative gpa & join the honors society. Fall 2011 i plan on taking 6 classes and hopefully maintain a 4.0 to reach a cumulative of a 3.7 before i apply to schools in 2012 which by then i will have about 30-31 credits completed. These are all predictions based on what im aiming for but just like the first semester if i can't get a 4.0 and get another 3.7 my cumulative will be a 3.6..

Some of schools im applying to wont need HS transcript after 30 credits because my HS GPA was a 2.15 (thats what i was told going into senior year, now all 4 years combined idk because i didnt bother to ask but my senior grades weren't really bad i would think my HS GPA is 2.2 (not really a difference between 2.1 & 2.2 same thing right? yeah..) Since then i've majored, HS wasnt really my thing i could go on but im not. These are the list of schools im applying to (as a Sophmore) considering everything goes planned and i have a 3.7 with 30+ credits(will be done with all prerequisites) & probably as a business related major (economics, finance....)

NYU (reach i guess)
USC (reach i guess)
Fordham (Main choice because the first 2 seem like reaches)
Umiami
UNC: Chapel Hill
UVA (in state)
Hofstra (safety)
St Johns (safety)
I also plan on retaking SATs but does anybody know how NYU & USC weigh HS grades??

Do you need financial aid? NYU is notoriously stingy. Very few schools offer good aid to transfer students.

All the schools you listed may be tough with your HS GPA. You may want to consider another year at CC so you can transfer as a junior - which is usually easier than a lower-division transfer, and your HS stats will be basically irrelevant.

Oh dear god do not go to Hofstra. I am there now and if you are reasonably intelligent, you will hate it as much as I do.
That is really my only advice. Don’t go to Hofstra.
Also, work on developing relationships with professors for good letters of rec and make sure you put a lot of effort into your essays.

idk yet, but yeah i’ve heard that about NYU,to be honest i’m really not relying on NYU to accept me since i’ve seen how competitive Stern can be but that is my dream school. Is it true CAS is easier to transfer into then Stern?
The thing is i don’t want to stay In CC another year, im tired of living with parents, im tired of commuting.

Thanks lol i only put both Hofstra & St Johns down because of its location from NYC, I would think they would provide good internships? But as far as recommendations i think thats whats going to be my problem because i don’t talk to any of my professors, my last semester i didn’t have any classes that allowed the class to communicate with them and know them better.

You need to know before you waste money applying to schools you can’t afford.

Can your parents pay $50,000 per year? If not, cross NYU off your list right now.

You have a very, very good in-state option with UVA and I would focus on that right now.
