I’m planning to do community service in the summer as well and taking Volleyball as a sport in my senior year if that will help boost my transcript. Please share your opinion if cal state is even an option for me. (I would prefer not to attend CC)
Anything below a 3.0 GPA will not get you into to CSUF. Average GPA is around a 3.4. If you are set to attend a Cal state, you need to look into the non-impacted campuses such as Channel Islands, Monterey, Bakersfield, Stanislaus, Dominguez Hills which will accept lower GPA’s. There is also the other option of going to a community college for 2 years, earn good grades and transfer using the AA-T and AT-T agreements.
Also with those D’s and F’s on your transcript with no retakes, you might not meet the required a-g course requirements to apply for a Cal State. From your transcript, it looks like you are not ready to pursue college courses. CCC might be your best bet.
Yea what the above poster said… you should have retaken those classes you got a D/F in to show 1) your willing to try again/determination, and 2) get a higher grade in the retake to boost your GPA. Try enrolling in summer school this summer and retake as many D/F’s you can. Then your GPA should rise above a 3.0 and you have a fighting chance and CSUF. Otherwise, community college is the best bet for you.
-Goodluck!
