2.6 GPA, 157Q, 156V, Computer Science Grad Schools

Hi so the title kind of says it all really, i have, as a result of my own stupidity destroyed my chances of getting into a decent graduate school.

That being said, i am a college senior at a small very selective "mini-ivy" and am about to start working on apps, but i am unsure as to which schools would even consider me? I intend to show in my senior year that i am very serious indeed about scoring well, and am going all out to obtain a top grade, which i know i can. My previous grades are basically the result of pure neglect.

I feel like my Senior GPA can be in the range of a 3.6+ since i am actually working hard now, and i just gave the GREs and scored 157 quant, 156 Verbal, although i am retaking them to obtain a 160 at least.

So i have a few universities in mind

Boston University
University of South California
UC Davis
Dartmouth?

But i was wondering if my expectations are way off and i wouldn't even stand a chance at these universities?

I have done a few internships that involved web development at advertising agencies and for my senior project i am creating somewhat large game using Java.

Thanks for any replies.

You’re going to be very hard-pressed to get into any institutions of that caliber, given your GPA. Not saying it’s impossible, but very unlikely.

Also, your hypothetical improvement trend likely won’t come into consideration for this year’s applications, because application deadlines may be before grades show up on transcripts. I would suggest that you wait a year and apply for fall 2014 admissions, with your senior year improvement fully accounted for in a final transcript.

Recommendations from your professors will be important as well.

I wasn’t planning on going to graduate school right after graduation. As I need to save up before even thinking about applying. I also want to get more work experience of course.

Oh **** wrong thread. Thought I clicked on my thread. Lol
