2.8-2.9 GPA and 1800 SAT

M2C

I would like to attend those schools.

I would not like to attend any other schools (excluding ivy league schools and places like Stanford)

I also did not really want to go to Baruch but I just wanted to know what my chances were.
I can’t really attend any school that my parents have to pay over 15k out of pocket. Realistically, I may have to attend CC but my fear is that I would not do well and may have no way of transferring with a good GPA.

If you think you wouldn’t do well in a CC, then you wouldn’t do well in ANY school. Maybe college isn’t really for you. I myself is going to Baruch this fall coming from a CC with a 3.7 GPA. My HS transcript didn’t matter one bit.

Beggars can’t be choosers. If you want to go to a decent university, you have to go to CC. You’ll get a fresh start and colleges won’t see your current GPA. Just don’t slack like you did in high school and you should be fine.

Here is extremely personal advice. I had 3.4 GPA in hs with 1650 (sats. Only took once in 10th grade. I didn’t even bother applying to schools that I really didn’t want to go to. Instead, I went to community college for a year, received a 4.0, President of Student Government and President of Honor Society. I am transferring to Emory next year. Community College has so many opportunities if you take advantage of them.

not sure if you’ve applied yet but please please do apply to NYU, if anything. A 2.9 is whatever you make of it. NYU and other colleges like it do not only see a 2.9. If you’ve showed improvement over your 4 years of high school and take responsibilty for that plus a rocking essay, you will be fine. i know because i had/have the same credentials as you, 2.9 1810 SAT and i was accepted to NYU. Maybe a miracle or maybe the beginning of a new era but really do what you please. best wishes!
