@PMLAPA thank you very much for the chance back! :)

Update. I now know my exact UW GPA: 2.68

PMLAPA, can you explain what you mean by ‘streamlined’ for Stetson? We couldn’t find anything on their website regarding this option.

@Momzie Stetson sent me a letter in May saying that they’ve selected me to apply with Significant Student status in the fall. I get a free application without the need to write an essay, among other perks. Same deal with William Paterson. Yes, I showed prior interest, and yes, I called their office and they said that it was legitimate.

Oh. She didn’t get that letter. We’re going to visit in September. Maybe they’ll offer it to her then? Her SAT’s are a bit lower than yours, though she has a pretty decent GPA. What state are you from? (We’re banking on geographic diversity.)

@Momzie ah, I see. I’m from New Jersey! Stetson seems really nice, as do most Florida schools! I’ve recently been enamored with the idea of going to school in Florida; gorgeous scenery, top-notch academics, fantastic athletics, high level of school spirit, etc.

Which leads me to the newest additions to my list: FSU, Syracuse, and Monmouth U. To all future chancers, don’t chance me on Clark, Binghamton or BC anymore.

Bump

U mass - accept
Bentley - reach
Quinnipiac - accept
Hofstra - high reach
Binghamton - low reach
Clark - deferred
Stetson - accept
Rider - safety
Patterson - accept
Boston college - reject
Northeastern - high reach

A note of caution—some of the colleges on your list only look at M+CR (Hofstra and UMass Amherst were the first two that I checked; there may be more). Combined with your low GPA, this might be a dealbreaker. And if you need aid, FSU probably won’t give you any.

@loquatical I don’t need any aid, as mentioned in the original post. But why do some colleges only look at CR+M?

Whoops, missed that. My bad. As for the M+CR, you’ll have to ask individual colleges for that answer (you can check if they consider writing on their Common Data Set). However, this is an article tossed around here sometimes.

<a href=“SAT Essay Test Rewards Length and Ignores Errors - The New York Times”>http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/04/education/04education.html

UMass - Accept
Bentley - Accept
Quinnipiac - Accept

Don’t know anything about the rest of the schools you listed, sorry!
I really hope you end up going to UMass! It’s an AWESOME school and I will be applying there as well for Fall 2015!

P.S. Are your application fees going to be waived? If so, I still think you should apply to Northeastern even though it’s a high reach.

@fallenwinter thank you!!! Most of my app fees have been waived, just need to get others in. And yes, I did apply to Northeastern! :)

Well, I didn’t get into UMass.

@SternBusiness I’m a senior now, so let me update you on my results…
Accepted to UNC Wilmington (not mentioned), Quinnipiac, Stetson, Hofstra, Rider, and Pitt-Johnstown (not mentioned).
Rejected from UMass, Northeastern, Bentley, Pittsburgh (not mentioned), Syracuse (not mentioned), Fordham (not mentioned), Binghamton, and Clark.
I ended up not applying to Boston College (too much of a reach + I didn’t take SAT Subject Tests) or William Paterson (too much of a safety, joke of a school as a whole).
Oh ok nice. what college are you leaning to?
and I think I was 100% on my prediction haha. I heard UNC wilmington is nice and its right by the shore, I would pick that school.
@SternBusiness you actually missed one, haha. You said Stetson would waitlist me.
And yes, I am leaning towards UNCW. Very strongly, in fact.
