2.8 GPA for first semester bad?

So I'm probably looking at a 2.8 GPA for my first semester ever in college, is that a bad GPA? I had such a hard time adjusting (especially since I'm an international student) and didn't do as well as I'd hoped. I'm planning to be a math major and my classes for my first semester are calculus, chemistry, physics, programming and an English class. Probably the only reason I'm having such a hard time is because I never had any AP in my high school while everyone else here has AP. I'm basically the dumbest of the smartest :-(

Any thoughts?

You can still get a 3.85 average if you get all A’s from now on, so think of it as motivation to work harder.

It’s not great, but a lot of people struggle their first semester. It just shouldn’t be a trend after this semester. Lighten your load next time or try and study harder/smarter.
