Will UCB rescind a 2.83? I hope this will not happen, but just asking…

call and report to them. Good luck

overall or second semester?

you'd have a better chance if it's just your second semester, and your first semester really kicked butt.

(i may have the same issue w/ UCLA...i try not to worry about it. honestly, it's been killing me for a month now.)

There's a thread on the UCLA Board about this... someone e-mailed Admissions and then posted the e-mail. The GPA for senior year is a cumulative 3.0 unweighted for both semesters.

according to the UCB website, it says Complete all senior-year courses listed on your application with an overall unweighted B average for each term and no grade lower than a C.

I really do not understand what this means.
And for my first semester I had a 3.67 and I am just wondering whether they would rescind me for gettin a 2.83 second semester. I do not know whether this will happen, but I am just really stressing out about this.

most likely not...

"There's a thread on the UCLA Board about this... someone e-mailed Admissions and then posted the e-mail."

That would be me. UCLA had the exact same requirements as UCB, as far as I know. But I'd still get the 3.0 UW this semester just to be sure.

Duh. Its purposely ambigious to keep you all scared ****less to slack.

(deleted part of post)

I've heard of instances where people begged their ways back into their college (not UCB or UCLA though) after having their admittance revoked.

Try to bring it up (you are supposed to be Berkeley material right o:?).

Complete all senior-year courses listed on your application with an overall unweighted B average for each term and no grade lower than a C. Immediately notify us, in writing: if you did not meet the grade point average condition for any term of your senior year; or of any changes to your senior year class schedule.

For each term. That means you have to get unweighted 3.0 for each semester. It is not accumulative.

Oh, shoot. My mistake beastmaster. Ok, yea, worry now =. Notify them in writing if it is impossible to save your admittance. I'd recommend telling them you will make up some classes at a local community college over the summer. Good luck.

Well, looks like you slacked off a little too hard second semester. Might wanna check out UCR, it's not so bad, as long as you were expecting a Berkeley education. Doh.

909

how is this statement ambiguous?

"Complete all senior-year courses listed on your application with an overall unweighted B average for each term and no grade lower than a C."

your senior GPA needs to be >= 3.0, unweighted, and don't earn any D's or F's.

berkeley kids sure are smart. (i'm bitter, leave me be.)

Do whatever you can to keep your GPA up - it's not too late in the semester. Berkeley and UCLA do mean unweighted 3.0 for each semester AND no D's of F's.

Admitted students DO have their admissions revoked - that, unfortunately, is happening more and more often as senioritis has skyrocketed at many high schools.

Statistically, colleges do factor the revocations into the number that are admitted.

From what I've seen and heard about, Berkeley, UCLA and San Diego have stricter requirements and are more hard-nosed about the requirements being met than the other UCs.

Talk to your current teachers and study hard for the remainder of the semester. (If you are sincere about buckling down, I've seen teachers work out a plan with the student, even accepting late homework, when that is not normally their policy).

Psychologically, there is a theory that some students slack off because they are not ready to go away for college and some just do not care enough. This requirement helps weed out students that will likely end up struggling anyway, if they are allowed in.

Lets say

1st semester 3.6 gpa
2nd semester..... 3.0 gpa > 2._ (above 2.5, below 3.0)

.....couple of C's and possible D in Physics and/or Caluclus ?

If I call/notify them, will they let me slide or revoke me?

dang I am infected with senioritis.....so much work to do like prom planning, CIF playoffs, AP testing, etc...

HELP ME 1111111111111111111111

yea i'm at the edge of ur situation as well and i'm scared :(

I'm actually below a 3.0 UW right now for 2nd sem, but I'm not really worried. Is that a problem? :P
