Hi, I know my GPA is very low but a majority of it is due to freshmen year (lack of experience, first time studying without tutors, took too many classes). I’m an industrial engineer and it’s not impacted, finished a good number of higher level classes at my community college.

im in the same boat…2.81 gpa transfer, non impacted major, CSU Breadth Requirements completed. Hope I can get in…Comp Sci major. I believe we have a chance, not a rly good chance, but it is possible. I believe one rep from Cal Poly Pomona posted on my school’s FB page that they were accepting transfers with a minimum gpa of 2.5 so that says something.

are you sure they say accepting with minimum of 2.5, or do you mean eligible with a minimum of 2.5
if its accepting… that would be extremely good news

i have a 3.0 gpa and 1300 sat
what are my chances for accounting option business

"Attention Transfer Students: Cal Poly Pomona will be admitting students with a 2.5 and above GPA for Fall 2012- provided they are not applying to impacted majors. Remember to file your CSU application by the November 30, 2011 deadline @ CSUMentor. GO BRONCOS!!! "

Thats the message written.

I’ve actually done a bit of researching on that and one person told me that this only applies to people who lives in the service area. I remember someone else saying CPP isn’t doing service area anymore so I’m a bit confused now.

I can tell you that it will be quite difficult to be admitted with those GPAs as transfers… if Cal Poly Pomona has a surplus of spaces leftover, then you may have a chance. Doesn’t hurt to try, worse that can happen is you forfeit your application fee.

there is however something called Engineering Supplemental Application for transfers…I wonder whats that about.

I’m not 100% sure but I think its where you fill out additional classes that you are taking to show how much more you have outside the minimum requirements, correct me if I’m wrong.

@visom1 I think thats what it is to. Ive read several forums and people said how the supplemental application actually got them admitted since they had lower than average GPA’s

for transfers, has anyone hear taking/planning to take an Engineering class in CC?

I’m an industrial engineer (nonimpacted), that’s the only thing that’s giving me a chance lol.

I’m a transfer so yes linguin101 I am taking it from a CC.

How exactly do you fill out a ‘supplemental’ application? I just applied on CSUmentor and that was it, or maybe I already did the supplementals and don’t remember it.

@visom1 other than statics or dynamics?

And about that I dont know, but I just logged into BroncoDirect and there was a bulletin there stating that for impacted majors, a supplemental application will be required. I dont know how/where/when to get this “supplemental application”, but I’m calling tomorrow to make sure I’m not missing anything

I’ve completed all my chemistry, finished a calculus class and am going to start my 2md calc class and first physics class.

@visom1 your not gonna take 2nd and 3rd physic class?

I will eventually, but it’s not mandatory to finish all your physics class if you want to transfer so as long as you have all your GE or will have it completed.

@visom1 dam really? Im about to take the third physics class and an Electrical Engineering class as well since I finished everything else haha

Good Luck!
