2.9 GPA and 1200 SAT score (please help)

Where can i get into? Obviously States..but in california or somewhere close.
long beach? san marcos? sdsu? let me no what u think and with more..

i really do hope you don’t mean 1200/2400

are you a CA resident?

Yes i am a CA resident

u can try taking ACT… some people do better on that.

But is my SAT to low for CALSTATES?

but i smy SAT to low for CALSTATES

Is the 1200 out of 1600 or 2400?

I’m pretty sure he means out of 1600. I’m not sure it’s even possible to score a 1200 on a 2400 scale (averaging 400 on each section is like the lowest possible).

I think San Diego St. would be a good option for the OP.

check out [CSUMentor - Explore Campuses - Campus Facts](<a href=“Choosing a Campus | CSU”>Choosing a Campus | CSU)

if you click on “admissions” under each individual school, it tells you what the average freshman stats were.

like CSU East Bay has a 3.0 average with 450 verbal, 465 math. northridge is a 3.1 with 466 verbal, 480 math. san fran state is a 3.1 with 530 verbal, 540 math…etc etc.

to cosine45

I actually know someone who got 1100/2400,
so yes, it is possible…

cosine45, the lowest possible score on the SAT is 600/2400 seeing as how the lowest amount of points one can get is 200 per section. I find it rude that you would say something like that when the OP could very well be talking about it being out of 1600 or 2400, and you seem like a Dbag when you say stuff like that. And not everyone is a typical CC-er. Not everyone gets a 2200 and is disappointed (shocker! I know).

to the OP, just keep looking around collegeboard.com and princetonreview.com to look for average SAT and GPA in the UC system and look for colleges that hold your criteria.

Chill out, lilygraces; there have been people here with SAT scores with 300-400 in each section, so it is a perfectly valid question.

My bad…I always thought SAT subsections were graded from 400-800. I didn’t mean to come off as rude or offend anyone.

You could probably get in to the less competitive CSUs (ie NOT Long Beach, SD, Monterey, etc.).

I agree with the ACT suggestion.
