what the title says...
thank you for all responses.

i dont know
i sent in 4...admittedly after i got deferred
waiting for april

4 additional essays???? oh goodness. hehe, best of luck in april.

Harvard might take it (4 is WAY to many...that is insane)...I would really make sure that these two additional essays don't overlap (I'm sure you have, but really...)

Make sure they aren't tedious to read either. I hate reading essays that make you pause after each sentence. Put some flow into them.

hm, newt, i hope not. Each is only 340 words long tho...one's a little boring, but's got info. the other is lighter and flows plenty-good. What do you say guys? Go for two?

If the info in the boring one is already apparent throughout the rest of your app, I say don't send it. If it is new stuff, send it. I would send the lighter one either way.

i would send neither. harvard asks for 2 and doesn't want more. They're swamped as it is, and will most likely disregard any other material you send their way. (I'm reading the Gatekeepers right now, and it is fascinating but giving me nightmares)

i actually didn't want to send in an additional essay..because it was "optional" and I already had said everything I basically needed to say. So do you think they will be a little hostile to my app because it doesn't have a 2nd essay?

Samething for me "misscompetent". I got everything I wanted in my app, the essay and my resume...and no it won't hurt.

no it won't hurt, misscompetent, i agree. Thing is i'm trying to push for the well-rounded applicant, so there are actually things I want to say.

babybird87 - nono, i'm not sending two additional, additional essays. I would send one 340 word one as the additional essay, and the other 340 as the additional additional.

Any more thoughts? What if I get both cut down to 250? Tiny things!
