2 alumni interviews?

I was deferred on the EA round, but did have an interview with a local alumnus prior to that decision and it went absolutely excellent, however; just last week I was contacted by a different alum for another interview which I had on Friday (it also went extremely well). I am just a little irked by the fact that even having a local alumni interview is optional, but I was asked for two....what do you think happened with that? Just a mistake or do you think they were re-evaluating me?

It was a mistake. The ASC director probably didn't mark down that you were interviewed during the EA round. I am a longtime alumni interviewer who is intimately familiar with the alumni interview program and I've never heard of a second interview.

Yeah, 2 interviews is really odd.

Yale uses the interview to confirm things presented in other places in the application. It would be unnecessary to have more than 1 interview. So yeah, probably a mistake.

I've heard of a second interview in an instance where the first interviewer never filed the report for some reason.

i would call the regional administrator for alumni interviews if I were you. Tell them your situation and get their input. They will be able to tel you what to do.

I also had two interviews; both went well and both involved pretty lively discussion. I was contacted for the second interview a couple of days after midyear reports and second set of SAT I scores (both showing improvement) were sent. The second interviewer told me that a request to interview me had just been made by the adcom. I'm neither an athlete nor an URM, and I haven't received a "likely letter". Does anyone else have an opinion as to whether this is anything more than a meaningless mistake? Just curious. I know not to get my hopes up.
Thanks.
