i have a friend who never had a C in high school, but kinda slacked off in 1st semester senior year coz most schools he applied doesn’t require mid-year report. like uiuc and purdue. he now has 2 Cs in Ap physics C and AP chemistry. the grading system at our school is 93-100 as an A, etc. (7 pts) he’s wondering if that’ll matter for the schools that do require mid-year report, like ga tech perhaps, thanks, any opinoin is appreciated

Is he in at Purdue and UIUC? If so, that's good because a falling trend is not what you want to show colleges. I would be concerned with the possibility of being wait-listed. If that occurs, final grades could be very important. I wish your friend luck, but tell him school's not out for the summer yet.

Do not dismiss Purdue as not concerned about senior grades. I know for a fact that they called and asked a guidance councillor about a student's grade that had fallen from an A- to a D. Tell your friends to get his grades back up as best he can. Most students have a drop off at some point, but it says more about ability and diligence if one attempts to overcome a poor grade.

he's not in yet, he applied about the same time i did, though he will have 2 Cs for ap classes, but those are the toughest courses in our school, i dunno what'll happen to him, but i guess i should warn him about it,, he's been slacking off quite a bit lately
