2 AP's senior year or 3?

I thought I had figured everything out for my senior year, but after my councilor tallied up all of the registrations for next year I found out that not enough people signed up for the AP Statistics class that I really wanted to take. Originally I was signed up for three AP classes (AP Chemistry AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics) but now that stats didn't carry I could take either AP Physics C or college astronomy. My dilemma is will colleges see taking only 2 AP classes senior year as slacking? Between sophmore and junior year ive taken AP Euro AP Bio and AP U.S. Would taking only AP Chem and AP Calc AB be considered slacking? Should I go for AP Physics C in addition to chem and calc? I plan to be a bio major if that makes any difference.

I don't feel the need to go to an ivy league school, but I do want to get into a university with a respectable genetics program and I will definately need finnancial aid so which option will be best in my situation.

FIVE BABY!!!

Macro, Micro, Music Theory, Spanish, Calc, maybe physics B if my masochist mode kicks in. My school only offers spanish and calc.

fhimas, what was the point of that post, besides to brag? Lots of seniors take 5+ AP's senior year (myself included), it's nothing special.

Gee you guys are so helpful I can hardly stand it!

mike, take the course you're more interested in. Obviously Physics appears more hard-core, but then I don't know too much about what an intro astronomy class would be like. Physics is a good base to have (and it fits well with Calc) but if it's going to make you miserable or overload you with work then it's not worth it.

^^^ haha - yeah. Except my school only offers 4 AP classes, two of which won't fit in my schedule. Basically, in my HS career, I will have taken more APs than my school offers. Yeah, I'm proud.

There was no point of the post - just ignore it and call me a loser. I think that was pretty clear.

I think that since you are fine taking just two AP's, being that your school only offers one more anyway. You are not expected to take all the AP's that your school offers, even if that is only three in a given year. However, if you think that you can handle it, consider stretching yourself a bit for AP Physics. But you certainly should not feel obligated. Another option would be to take an AP course (like AP Stats) through an online program. This takes a little extra effort, but it fulfills everything--you take the class that you want, and you get those 3 AP's on your schedule.

what about AP Lit/Language?

^^^^Is AP Physics really a good fit with calc AB. I've never taken a prior physics class before, but I am decent @ math.

Taking AB Calc concurrently with Physics C is a little tough, but very doable. I am in Physics C this year, and we have a couple of kids who are in AB and they seem to be doing fine. I mean, the more math you have, the stronger foundation that you have for Physics, but AB certainly covers the topics that you need for Physics C. Unless AP Physics C has a reputation for being really killer at your school, I see no reason why you COULDN'T do it.
