@CollegeSoteria by chance, did you comment on this thread? I received a notification, but I can’t seem to see it.
This looks like a 3.15 from a CC. You appear to have taken elementary algebra. The C was also in Chemistry and Society. I would not apply to Columbia and Northwestern. You are not at all a lock for Rutgers.
@sattut I just checked the Rutgers Transfer thread for 2019. Students have been admitted with 2.9 GPAs. Didn’t think this forum had so many “Senior members” who are very much out of context.
“Just heard back and I got into SAS, SEBS, and SMLR for fall 2019!!!
I am in shock because of my stats too!
GPA: 2.8, but I will note that I had an upward trend and a 4.0 last semester while working 2 jobs and about 50 hours per week! You guys, if I got in, YOU ALL CAN DO ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO!!”
Here’s an example, friendo
Seeing many students who got into with 3.3 and 3.4 GPAs. @sattut
It would be very unusual for someone to get into a highly competitive university from a community college. But, they might, if they have a 4.0 in the most rigorous courses offered, and fantastic recommendations along the line of, “This young person is clearly a late bloomer, but he has bloomed! He has found his passion, and is one of the brightest, most highly motivated students I have ever seen. He is clearly capable of performing at the most competitive university.”
Is that what you have?
OP, don’t go on threads. The Rutgers site shows 3.2 - 3.8 as the mid-50th percentile, for transfer to NB. What’s your actual gpa, including all of this year’s grades and the French?
The kid you quoted had multiple rejects from Rutgers and got in on a review, based on additional credits and better than 2.8. He claimed, at various points, that he had a rigorous schedule.
You don’t know what else thread kids did or how their apps came across.
Transfer apps were due Feb 1. So what will you do next school year, to make yourself a viable candidate?
@lookingforward I’m going to apply this fall. This year, I’ll still be attending my CCC. I’m looking to graduate in the Spring, hopefully. I just checked again and official GPA, all grades included, is a 3.21. I’m looking to join the Honors Program also PTK as a member. This Fall, I’m looking to get a 3.8+ GPA while attempting 18 credits.
