2 Crucial College questions

1.) Should i post my lower scoring ACT even though i got a higher score on a few subjects, (not much more, maybe one point on 2 areas) or keep my score as is, 34 non superscored. And will colleges check to see how many times I've taken the test.

2.) For regular decision, is it better to apply sooner rather than later and does it affect my chances at all

Thanks

I can only answer Question 2.

I would say yes, it does matter for regular decision. I say this because “need aware” schools, i.e. schools that consider whether or not you apply for financial aid, say that in reality they only start to consider whether an applicant applied for financial aid towards the end of the pile. I have a feeling those who applied last, while still within the deadline, were in the end of the pile.

it depends what the schools policy is on score choice. some schools require you to submit all your scores. every single college I’ve talked to stated they only consider your best scores anyways, so it wouldn’t hurt you to send in a lower ACT score. And some schools can tell how many times you’ve taken a test, based on how many score reports you send in… but that shouldn’t reflect poorly on you unless you’ve taken the SAT 4 or more times… i would think
