Did anyone else get two decision emails?

Like they were sent 20 minutes apart..anddd one was addressed to me, and the other had the <<firstname>> as the address. </firstname>

What's with that? Did anyone else get two?

UChicago admissions is technologically ■■■■■■■■ (how do you mess up assigning data values to variables…). Either that, or I don’t know what obscure language they used in coding their stuff. And, yes, I got two. They sent two because the first one didn’t say your name.

Yep, same here.

did any rejects get an email saying their notification was online?.. i have yet to check my decision. i donno what i should prepare for.

You didn’t get rejected. You either got waitlisted or accepted. Congrats. However, upon checking your decision, you may trigger the launching of a nuclear missile to your exact location. If this happens, DON’T PANIC. Just duck and cover (for an in-depth explanation of this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixy5FBLnh7o) and everything will be OKAY. In all seriousness, just check.

thanks (maybe)

heh, waiting for the hard copy

Careful guys, they put the decision letter inside the email. Dont expect to open the email to only find a link; the full decision letter is there.

I got rejected. Wasnt a nice surprise, but it was expected. I got the 2 emails that were consecutive.

I got in but they still haven’t sent me any email.

i only got one email, and it has my name.
they put a sign-in link in there, instead of the full decision letter… lol it’s weird/interesting how everyone seemed to have gotten different emails.

Wow, seriously vitaminc22? :O

That’s such a fail for Chicago. I’m actually pretty dissapointeddd haha.

I just checked my e-mail, and verified my e-mail on the online account (it was correct), and I didn’t get an e-mail at all. :/

But I knew they had come out, and I was waitlisted.

oh yeah, and i was waitlisted too.
but it’s still odd how irregular the emails are haha

I’m fairly sure (based on what I’ve observed on the forums) that those who got accepted received an e-mail link to log into their UChicago account, which then has a link to the letter. Those who did not get in just got a letter in the email. I’m not sure about the waitlisted people though.

I was waitlisted and just got an e-mail saying my decision was ready and a link to sign in.

yup i got it 2 rejection emails… i mean seriously chicago…

Dear «FirstName»,
The Admissions Committee has carefully reviewed your application to the University of Chicago. After much consideration, I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you a place in the Class of 2014. This year’s applicant pool was the strongest in the university’s history; in light of this, we were unable to offer admission to every worthy applicant.
I recognize that this message may come as a disappointment to you. Nevertheless, I encourage you to make your future educational plans with the same enthusiasm and initiative that led you to consider us.
We appreciate the interest you have shown in the University of Chicago. Best wishes as you pursue your educational goals.
Sincerely,
James G. Nondorf

Same here. Well.

Sending one rejection letter was not enough, they have to frkn send out a second one. They are really trying to put in stone that i’m not accepted. STUPID!

^I kinda reacted the same way at first…got over it soon though.
