So Georgetown is the only school that I am applying to which requires 3 sat iis. So far i have 2 solid ones (710 Math I, 750 US History) and 1 pretty bad one (580 Bio).

So will the bad one mess me up, or should i just take another one in October?

I took the exact same SAT II’s as you did. Definitely retake bio in October. Just study up for the one you are looking to take and nail it. Shouldn’t be too bad. Good luck/

580? what happened? Did you take it after honors bio and get nailed by AP students? Yes, by all means retake it. If you don’t do well again, keep retaking it until you do.

i applied EA with a 770 US and a 700 lit. i was deferred so i had to take a third in october. i got a 660 math II (52nd percentile i think) and i got in regular. my advice is, you can try to raise it, but i think it’s one small factor among many other more important factors. focus on the more important factors.

Take it again, but it may not be a deal breaker. I got a 580 in Lit (I know…) and still got accepted. My other scores weren’t great either, 610 and 660. Retake, but realize it may not be a nail in your coffin.

What I was thinking of doing is, now since you don’t have to send all the scores in, is taking Lit, because I got a 750 on the sat section for CR. And hopefully scoring high on that, and not sending in bio. Will this work?

Also what happen for bio is that I took it in 9th grade, and it was my first standardized test, and i was scared *****less, so i did badly.

i got a 750 on CR first time taking SATS and a 5 on AP Lit after sophomore year. i took Lit SAT2s thinking it’d be a cinch–i got a 640 (and a 770 on US Hist and Math2).

So i wouldn’t necessarily consider CR score to equate to Lit score. Be Careful.

if you try to “slide” by , you’re setting yourself up for rejection, i mean you didn’t even MEET the requirements, it’s better to submit a third bad score than none at all

even though harvard requires 3, they let you “slide” by with 2 in very special circumstances

I have asked this question specifically at an information session at Georgetown. They do not require 3. they would like 3. but they specifically said that 3 are not required.

that’s like saying “we consider all applicants” to a 1300 super score rich white kid. Honestly, it’s effectively a requirement.

Unless they changed it (I heard something going on), you can’t elect which SAT II scores to send. Bio will show either way.

As for Lit: LOL. I took it and got a 660. I know I’m weak at Lit but I knew one of the passages XD That exam is one to stay away from. I highly advice USH as the “humanities” aspect to an otherwise quant-minded applicant.

Actually, I did ask my college councilor if 3 were required, and he said that you can submit 2, but it would be like staring with one strike already against you, so i don’t really want that to be an option.

Also I would have asked him the question I addressed to this board but school ended before I had the opportunity. And I am going to ask in September, but I want to start studying before then.

It’s not all about the SAT’S. Believe it from me. Im pretty sure that you can get away with two good ones, I did. I took the subject test once. I got a 720 in US History, a 780 in Spanish and my suckiest a 365 in French. With these scores I didnt think I would get into Georgetown, I was suprised when I did. Youre scores are just fine. There are other factors much more important.
