2 Humanities Teacher Recs?

Is it acceptable to have 2 humanities teachers recs that you know will be unique and positive versus one humanities rec and one generic math/science teacher recommendation? In math/science there’s not much room for discussion, I’m not one to participate, and I’ve done mostly well but not as well as in English/Social Studies. Am I better off submitting a math one anyways or should I go with 2 humanities (english & foreign language)?

What is your potential major? If it’s math/science, you would need a math/science teacher. But if not and if the colleges you are applying to don’t specify that you need a math/science rec, I would say it’s fine. I only need 1 teacher rec and it’s from my US/Pysch teacher. One of my friends is getting his recs from an English teacher and a Spanish teacher.

Generally, schools would want the recs from 2 different subject areas; it does not have to be 1 STEM and 1 humanities. For instance Penn says:

You can certainly contact to admissions office for your target schools to get their guidance. Good luck!

@readingclaygirl I want to do something linguistics/neuroscience/bioengineering related, but I don’t participate very much in math/science classes. =/
