2 left.. before OSU

i'm seriously scared of OSU. they're monsters.

Did Hart get hurt in the game?

no Hart is fine. no use in playing him when the game was in hand.

i fear no one.

The second-hardest thing in the world is being a Buckeye who wants to go to Michigan.

I'll cheer for us until the end but OSU is... well, let's put it this way. If you look at the scores between the teams that Michigan and OSU have played, OSU has won by a higher margin of points. Also, they seem to be more dynamic than Michigan when you watch them play. We'll just have to see. Oh yeah, one of my roommates is an Michigan/OSU fan because most of his family grew up in Ohio and went to OSU while his mom and dad moved to Michigan. He's going to the Michigan/OSU game and I asked him who he'll cheer for and he said both but a little more for OSU. Go figure... -_-

Honestly, how did you guys only beat State by 18?

OSU is nasty this year. Good luck.

Hart left towards the end of the 3rd quarter after he scored the touchdown to put us up 17-3. I'm not sure if the game was clearly in the bag then. The Minor fumble (on our own 24) could have cut our lead to a touchdown...

I thought I heard the radio announcer said that Hart had a minor pull and they pulled him from the game for precaution...and that he should be back next week. They also said that we might have Manningham back next week. But then I might have heard wrong.

Hart should be back, nothing to worry about there.

Looking at score differential between common opponents is in general pretty worthless, especially when trying to draw conclusions about The Big Game. We have a rock solid defense, and have been using a pretty methodical offense that burns lots of time and keeps us in control of the game. The most likely reason that we're not throwing the deep ball and running up the score is because we don't really need to. It'll be just like with Notre Dame, where we don't show anything beforehand and break out the magic when it matters. Not saying that OSU isn't good, or that we're going to crush them, just that Michigan will have a lot more firepower come Nov. 18th than they've been showing the past few weeks.

OSU is very good, but they are simply doing what teams like FSU and Nebraska were doing in the 90s. Running up the score vs lesser opponents. Michigan could easily have scored another 17 points if they wanted to, but we simply did not play with that goal in mind. Michigan is hiding much of its offensive playbook for the big games (OSU and the Rose or Fiesta Bowl) at the end of the season. Furthermore, the absense of Mario has hurt us a little. Hopefully, he will be back to close to 100% when the time comes.

Our D is amazing. The game was in hand when we went up 7-0. I doubt Manningham will be back by next week.

A2...2 more weeks.

rest manningham until the OSU game so he is 100%. arrington and breaston will be fine by themselves for a little bit vs. the lesser opponents.

dvlfnfv5, I agree that Mario will not be back next week...even if he is healthy enough to play. I just don't see the need. We beat PSU and Iowa without him, we don't need to risk him getting hurt next week.

SubMachineNips, I think if Mario is healthy enough to play at Indiana, we should let him get a few reps, if only to get back in a groove. I would say let him have a couple of long yard receptions just to get him back into it. I just think that missing 5 games would leave him cold for the OSU game. Of course, if he doesn't have the g-ahead from the doctors, he shouldn't play, but if he is cleared, he should play a little before the big game.

You know what makes me mad, I can't make a road trip to Ann Arbor until senior year. Michigan is off our schedule the next 2 years. OSU is as well. This is seen as a big positive, but I wanted to go back there twice to cheer on my team and sit in the south endzone! I'd actually make noise, unlike 7/8 of the Big House.

A2Wolves, the only reason the Big House isn't loud is because of the way it was designed. Wait until the renovations are complete. The place will be deafening.

can anyone explain to me how the teams will be selected for the national championship game...or the fiesta bowl or other big bowls or w/e...in terms of Michigan and Ohio State. USC just lost yesterday which is just awesome! does that increase Michigan's chance of making nationals? or is it the fact that whoever loses the OSU/Michigan game just simply won't make the nationals at all?

Supposing the winner of OSU/Michigan game goes to nationals...who would be the other contender? They're takin about how ND might have a chance now that USC lost, or Texas or West Virginia on ESPN

The BCS National Championships is played at one of the "Big Four" (Fiesta, Orange, Rose and Sugar) Bowl venues on a rotational basis. This year is the Fiesta Bowl's turn. The teams that get to play for the national championship at the teams that are ranked #1 and #2 in the BCS ranking (which is an average of the Harris Poll, the Coaches Poll and 8 different Computer Polls).

Currently, OSU is #1 and Michigan is #2. USC was #3 and West Virginia was a very distant #4. With USC's loss this week, West Virginia will be a very distant #3.

Obviously, the winner of the Michigan vs OSU game is guaranteed a spot at the Fiesta Bowl. There are, in my humble opinion, several scenarios as to which team would play the winner of the Michigan OSU game.

1) The loser of the Michigan OSU game. That's right, those two teams are so far ahead of the rest (two points out of a possible ten points) that even the loser of that game may still stay ahead of the rest. This is most likely to happen if OSU loses by fewer than 5 points. Of course, should West Virginia, Texas, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, Notre Dame and Louisville all find a way to lose in the next 4 weeks, then the odds of a Michigan vs OSU rematch in the Fiesta Bowl are greatly amplified. At the very worst, the loser of this game will play at the Rose Bowl. Not too bad a consolation prize if you ask me.

2) West Virginia. West Virginia is now #3 according to the BCS poll, but they aren't even close to #2 Michigan. However, if they manage to beat Louisville this week and go on to finish their season undefeated, West Virginia has a chance to leap over the loser of the Michigan vs OSU game and end up playing in the Fiesta Bowl. However, West Virginia's weak schedule could really hurt them.

3) Texas. If the Longhorns manage to remain a 1-loss team, they could easily overtake the Mountaineers and finish in second place in the BCS poll.

4) Louisville. If Louisville finds a way to beat West Virginia, they could end up ranked #2 in the BCS poll, although given their very weak schedule, the odds of Louisville jumping past and staying ahead of Texas aren't good.

5) Auburn. If they can win the remainder of their games and beat Florida or Tennessee in the SEC championship game, Auburn may leap in to #2 in the BCS poll.

6) Tennessee. Same as Auburn.

7) Florida. Same as Auburn and Tennessee

8) Notre Dame. USC's brain fart against Oregon State this past weekend really hurt Notre Dame. Had Notre Dame beaten an undefeated, top 3 USC team at the end of the season, they could have really made a strong case for #2 in the BCS Poll. However, with USC's loss, Notre Dame's chances appear rather bleak. Still, Notre Dame has Jesus on their side, so who knows. Praise the Lord! LOL!!!

Let us hope West Virginia, Texas, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida all find ways to lose in the coming three weeks!

If West Virginia wins out, they will be in the championship. Their BCS ranking is low because their opponents they've played are bad, but once Lousiville, Rutgers, and Pitt get on that schedule ranking, it will go up, and there won't be a distance between Michigan and WV as people make it seem. Whoever comes out of the Big East will likely play whoever comes out of the Big Ten.

WV and UofL have ridiculously easy schedules. It pains me to know that they might actually have a shot at the championship. But I suppose if that happens, the Big East winner will learn their place after they get killed by either us or OSU in the Championship game.

A2Wolves, going undefeated will not guarantee West Virginia (and to a greater extent, Louisville) a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. Florida, Auburn and maybe even Texas will most likely overtake either of the Big East schools should they win out. And like I said, if OSU loses to Michigan by fewer than 5 points, it isn't inconceivable that they too will stay ahead of an undefeated Big East team. Imagine, USC lost 2.2 points in the BCS poll by losing to an unranked, 3-3 Oregon State team. I cannot see how OSU would drop more than 2 points if it lost to the #2 team in the nation and currently, OSU is more than 2 points ahead of West Virginia in the BCS poll.

Is there any other scenario in which we would still have a shot at the BCS game other than the circumstance that all the other teams lost?
