Hi everyone, I was looking over my list and realized that I only had possibly one real match. The rest seem to be safeties, high matches, and reaches. So I was going to add about two more colleges before the Jan 1. deadline. I was wondering if you guys could help me find those two!

GPA:3.6W, school only has weighted gpa. UW shouldn't be that much lower.
ACT: 24 (I know really bad! I may take it once more in Feb. but not sure that will reach the colleges)
Sat Subjects Test: got 600 on both Lit. and U.S. history, prob. not going to send them in. But may take them in Jan?
Location: I really want to be near a city! But I'm fine with anything besides rural! I could do a college town but that's about it. (Love BU, but I also want a campus)
I'm also looking at the east coast.
Intended major: Political Science, I'm looking for an overall good school, in case I change majors. In other words, the school doesn't need to have a #1 Political science department.
Money: As of right now that is not an issue.

Can't really think of anything else...Thanks!

Just remembered that I would like a med. to kinda small (5,000) school. I don't really want a huge school.

Where have you already applied? Any other constraints? For example, Catholic University in DC might be a fit - but you have to be okay with a school that has a religious mission.

Yes I have! I in fact already applied. The only problem is that it is 30 mins away. This would without a doubt make my mom happy, but I really want to explore a new area. It def. is a contender, I would be happy to go.

How about Pace University? They have 2 campuses, I was recently accepted (and have since committed!) with a 24 ACT, my friend was accepted with a 3.7W and a 25 ACT. The benefit is that the 2 campuses are interchangeable one is in NYC and the other is about 30 minutes from NYC in a small town in Westchester. The Westchester campus holds 2500ish students, and is typical college campus. They’re big on school spirit and school activities , you sound like you would be a match! If you want more info feel free to ask!

If you want a safer school in Atlanta, Oglethorpe might be a possibility. It’s larger than a LAC, but smaller than Emory. It’s also a LOT less selective

I’ve read good things about Butler University in Indiannapolis, University of San Francisco, Suffolk University, University of Portland, and Seattle University.

You might also want to apply to Willamette University in Salem, OR. While Salem is no DC or New York, it’s literally across the street from the Oregon State capitol. Great political science. I’m not sure you’d get in, but the application is free, and I don’t believe there’s an essay.
