I'm very confused. I somehow got a 2 on english lit and im very good at english. I really thought I did well. Is there anyway they messed up? Last year I got a 4 on AP lang...

Why did you take the AP Lit exam after passing the AP Lang exam? At most colleges, you can only get units for one or the other.

^ our school makes us to get the weight on our GPA… I got double A both semesters and an A on my IB oral so I know I deserved better than a 2… it rly bothers me for some reason. even though i know it doesnt matter, i dont fail…anything :(. im not a bad english student either even though i wanna be a math major. i predicted a 4 or 5 on this exam…

You can always get the MC rescored by hand. I think it costs about $25, but if it means that much to you and you think there’s a chance you didn’t use a dark enough pencil, go for it.

Good luck! :)

actually that’s the point of the two exams, some colleges take one, others take the other.

most schools i applied to only accepted credit for ap lit.

Strangely, my college (Pepperdine) offers credit for the lit GE requirement for 4 and 5 on AP lang (I got a 3) and only elective credit for a 4 or 5 on AP lit. I’m feeling another 3, but I don’t know yet. For UCs, you have to pass both tests for credit, and hours depend on scores.

swim2daend…if it will make a difference at the school you plan to go to, I’d ask for a handscoring. That sounds pretty odd…

At D’s public U, getting 5’s on both gets you 9 hours of credit, and you place out of the first two English classes, as well as general credit for 3 more hours in Languages.

Look at the grade distribution. English Lit is one of the harder tests to score highly on. It was the lowest out of all my AP scores.

hmmm im gonna think about rescoring it. Honestly, it bothers me, but im not sure enough. I mean, I took it as a junior (my school puts IB students a year ahead in english…) so I could always retake it. I’ll think about whether or not it’s worth 25 bucks

Wow your school forces you to take the AP test so you can keep weighted grades? I’ve never heard of that.
