Hi
Do you universities reject you if you get 95 while their minimum is 100 for TOEFL?
100 is a recommended score at most places
Not a cutoff
Supposing it is recommended then your profile won’t be rejected solely on basis of your score
But if it is indeed a cutoff then you’ll have to retake it
(However some schools consider a reading score above 600 to be proof of English as well)
My advise would be to read their requirements carefully and mail them if you still have doubts
@Littlebitanxious thanks
Some will offer you provisional admission, and will require that you enroll in their English program for a semester. Check the websites for that too. It might not be a bad deal. Often if you are near the cutoff, you will be allowed to take one or two regular classes along with the English classes.
@happymomof1 that’s very good
do they indicate that in their website?
Look for links at the websites for English Proficiency or Intensive English Program. That should help you find this sort of information. Here is one example for you to look at. Depending on the TOEFL/IELTS score, the student would be placed into full-time English or have some English and some regular classes. https://www.mnsu.edu/celp/curriculum.html
It is important to know that some colleges and universities do not have this kind of English program on campus, and even if they do, each place determines its own cut-offs for placement into an IEP.
@happymomof1 Thanks I know what should I be looking for
